Their last home

The original intention of the home for Handicapped Animals Foundation was to help the handicapped and the sick animals. However, soon after, the home was also taking care of animals that were that were abandoned by their owners some includes pure breed dogs.

Previously, there were two Dalmatians under the care of the Foundation. We name them Kung Haeng i.e. dry shrimp and Frangko. Frangko has since been adopted by a family but Kung Haeng is not so lucky. He passed away at the end of 2001. These animals did nothing wrong to be abandoned and neglected. Their irresponsible and heartless owner either got bored them or felt that the dogs were too much for them to handle.

There was also previously a very popular dog under the care of the Foundation. She was a Rottweiler and we named her Mimi. At First, visitors were afraid of Mimi due to those fiery eyes but in fact, people soon knew sensitive and kind animal. Mimi was abandoned by its “black hearted” owner for a very sad reason that Mimi was helping its owner catch the thief at their home but Mimi was hit by the thief which led her to be paralyses. It was really amazing that with the miracle of love, Mimi started to walk again after she was nurtured in the Foundation.

Mimi is very missed by all who knows her and her courage. She passed away one quiet morning due to virus infection on her ovaries. Mimi is still being grieved to this day as if a member of the family has passed away. Visitors to the Foundation still ask for Mimi to this day.
